 8th March 2011 marked the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. To celebrate this great day, the regional gender team at Bratislava put together stories of women from the region whose lives UNDP has touched.
The UNDP Europe and CIS photo stream presents pictures and short stories of women who have experienced positive changes in their lives or who have contributed to transformation in their communities, in relation to UNDP’s initiatives on the ground. ELS/ABD Programme knows such women and we were glad to tell about them! Photos of Dilbar Usmonova, Gulnoz Bobokulova (Karshi region), Communities preparing local development plans based on equal participation (Andijan and Kashkadarya) and other pictures clearly demonstrate the impact of the ELS/ABD Programme on women lives in Uzbekistan.
